| 2011-07-15Off-shore Dive Inspection Immediately before berthing at ERHA Terminal off-shore Nigeria, LCC KIM JACOB had caught a fishing net on her propeller and rudder. The crew managed to remove all visible parts of the net from deck but was not sure if any remains were still entangled around the rudder or the propeller. AMS was thus requested to do a dive inspection to ascertain the condition. In order to waste no time, AMS offered to meet KIM en route to her next port of call while passing off-shore Lagos. Despite adverse weather and sea conditions our fast crew boat MONIKA took a team of AMS divers to a rendezvous position safely outside the pirate-prone vicinity of Lagos where they managed to complete the inspection without any incident. As no remains of the net and no damages were found, KIM JACOB was able to continue her voyage in less then 45 minutes. « back |     |
