HSE CORPORATE POLICY STATEMENT

AMS-BP activities are organized, planned and executed to comply with our high health, safety and environment standards as follows.

Protect and promote the health of our workforce as well as to conduct our activities in such a manner to not adversely affect any third parties. We will maintain a proactive occupational health programme to identify and control any health hazards.

Avoid injury to any workers, subcontractors, and third parties, who are either involved in or are affected by AMS-BP working activities. We will maintain a proactive HSE programme.

Minimize the impact on the environment in which AMS-BP operates. Wherever we work, we will establish and maintain a proactive environmental programme. AMS-BP in their activities shall ensure that the environment is protected, pollution is minimized and natural resources are efficiently used.

Ensure the personal security of the workforce and third parties from hostile actions. At every work site AMS-BP will establish and maintain a proactive security programme.

AMS-BP management is fully committed to protect the health and safety of its employees, its subcontractor staff and any other persons who may be affected by its activities. AMS-BP provides a safe and healthy workplace for AMS-BP and its subcontractor employees and provides necessary instruction and required training for all of its employees.

AMS-BP does comply with the laws and decrees of Nigeria as well as national and international standards and best practices.

AMS-BP believes that HSE is a line management responsibility. Everyone is responsible for his/her and their colleagues’ health and safety at work and for protecting the environment. AMS-BP shall ensure that its HSE responsibilities are followed scrupulously by defining objectives, preparing HSE plans and showing visible management commitment.

HSE is an integral part of every job and as such all personnel shall address HSE issues in the same manner as any other business activity. AMS-BP shall set achievable HSE targets in advance and monitor progress against them.

AMS-BP believes that there is no job, which cannot be done safely. Work will not be started until all necessary HSE aspects have been evaluated. Every employee has the authority to stop all unhealthy/unsafe work or activities that will adversely affect the environment. AMS-BP believes that all accidents can be prevented therefore accidents are unacceptable.

AMS-BP shall include HSE performance in the appraisal of its employees.

This policy statement also applies to all subcontractor personnel working for AMS-BP.

Every AMS-BP employee must plan and perform his or her activities in accordance with the HSE policy. Any activity must be suspended when the employee believes that it cannot be carried out in accordance with the policy and must be reported immediately to his or her supervisor.
